We’re Mehek and Kapil, the founders of BuildTheory. For over a decade, we’ve worked in architecture, residential design, construction, and development. We’ve helped clients navigate permits, municipal approvals, renovations, custom homes, additions, multiplex conversions, and everything in between.

But somewhere along the way, we realized something. People don’t come to us because they need drawings. They come to us because they need clarity. They need someone to tell them what’s possible. Someone who can take a hundred questions, a Pinterest board, a rough sketch on a napkin, or a vision that’s still taking shape—and turn it into a plan they can actually build.

Because building or renovating a home isn’t just about choosing finishes or submitting permit drawings. It’s about making hundreds of decisions, overcoming unexpected challenges, balancing dreams with practical realities, and having someone you can trust to guide you through it all.

We know that because we’ve been there ourselves. When we bought our own home, we didn’t just see walls and floor plans—we saw possibilities. We spent countless evenings planning, renovating, painting, choosing finishes, solving unexpected problems, and making hundreds of decisions that slowly transformed a house into a home.

That experience reminded us that while every project is different, every client wants the same thing: To feel confident that they’re making the right decisions.
